The Best Flight Option

Retro Section Separator

Travelling from anywhere in Ireland to Bad Oeynhausen may be the least pleasant part of your trip but it’ll be worth it, we promise!

The most convenient flight option is Dublin to Düsseldorf (DUS) which has daily direct flights with Aer Lingus and Eurowings.

Düsseldorf Airport is around 2 hours drive or train journey from Bad Oeynhausen.

Travelling by Train

Düsseldorf Airport has a train station which is connected via the ‘Skytrain’ located upstairs in the Airport.

There is a direct regional train from Düsseldorf Airport (Flughafen) to Bad Oeynhausen (Hbf).

You can book tickets over https://www.bahn.de/.

There are two train stations in Bad Oeynhausen (the smaller one is Bad Oeynhausen Süd). They are close together, but not on the same line.

Renting a Car

If you travel in a group it may be cheaper or more convenient to rent a car at the airport.

You can do so for example using https://www.autoeurope.ie/. (see also Driving in Germany.)

The journey is all on the Autobahn, which can be quite busy. Losing an hour because of “Stau” is not unheard of.

Driving in Germany

Some traffic rules in Germany are quite different from Ireland (beside the obvious one).

Notably that drivers coming from the right at crossroads have priority unless indicated otherwise.

Also, at traffic lights pedestrians crossing the road have priority over cars turning left or right.
